Food and Drink
Recently given our fourth prestigious Silver award by Eat Scotland, we pride ourselves on high quality food, based on local ingredients. We source fresh lamb, venison, salmon, shellfish, grouse etc from the islands whenever possible and we make our own bread.

We will do our best to accommodate any food preferences, intolerances or allergies providing you advise us well in advance, although we are unable to guarantee that our food is 100% nut free.
Packed lunches are available at weekends at extra charge. We need advance warning however – by 9am the day before.
Breakfast is served between 8.00 and 9.30 (8.30 and 10am on Saturday and Sunday). A breakfast tray or packed breakfast can be provided if you need to leave early.
For breakfast there is plenty of choice including our, full Hebridean breakfast, plus specialities such as Stornoway Kippers, local hot- and cold-smoked salmons and natural smoked haddock. During high season we also offer continental pastries, omelettes, cold meats and cheeses.
Dinner is served at 7.30 for 8pm on weekdays, and 6.30 for 7pm at the weekend.
Dinner is served on 4 nights a week (usually Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday) and is 3 or 4 courses plus coffee with 3-4 choices for each course, and is served at separate tables in the dining room overlooking the bay.
On Sundays we offer 3-4 choices of starter and dessert, with a traditional roast for main course - often Sirloin of Aberdeen Angus Beef. 24 hour advance booking for dinner is essential (48 hours for Sunday dinner).
Please note: if you book dinner we will ask you to choose from the menu in advance – at breakfast if you are already resident or, if you arriving that day, by 5pm.
We have an alcohol licence, and keep an interesting range of local beers, wines, spirits and fine malt whiskies. The bar operates on an “honesty” basis, with guests helping themselves whenever required outside dinner service. We do not provide a BYO facility.
We have a new extended wine list, with over 20 fine wines ranging from classic clarets, through New Zealand fine Sauvignon Blanc, to interesting new wines from Uruguay. Wine prices range from £15 to £36 per bottle.
Our whisky list covers around 12 fine whiskies, including several rare cask strength malts - mostly from the islands.
