Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need a car?
Yes, definatly, we highly recommend a car to enable you to see all of the island and to reach all of the sights.
Can we book a room for 2 adults and a child / baby?
No, our rooms are designed to hold a maximum of 2 adults. We do not have the capacity or space to add more people into our guest rooms.
Do I need to pre book the ferry?
Yes, this is essential. If you plan on travelling to the island by ferry with your car, you will need to make a reservation for your preferred ferry crossing as soon as possible. A ferry booking is essential and they do get full.
Can we book in for a meal once we are there?
No, all evening meals and platters need to be booked in advance of your stay to allow us to plan and to secure your table, as tables are made available to non residents when available, for example if our guests choose to eat out.
Do you offer sea-view rooms?
Experience breathtaking coastal sea views from Room 4, but don't miss out on the stunning panorama from our expansive guest lounge. Here, the breathtaking sight is dominated by our beautiful beach, coastline, and the sea. On clear days, indulge in the spectacular views across the Minch to the Scottish mainland, where the majestic mountains of the Highlands come into focus.
Can we get to Harris easily from Broad Bay House?
Yes, we are ideally placed in the middle of the Isle of Lewis and Harris, with the furthest extremities being no more than 1 hour away.

Yes, there is plenty free on site parking for all our guests.
